Oats nuts sweet khadya ( a healthy khadya recipe):
Everybody has heard about panchakhadya containing 5 dry fruits. Today I have tried a new recipe of oats nuts khadya made with sugar, oats, groundnuts. Oats are a very healthy dietary fibre grain containing loads of fibre which is very good for our gut. In addition to this it reduces cholesterol, blood pressure and also diabetic friendly. But this recipe is with sugar, so diabetic people should avoid it. Otherwise very good for old ages, adults and kids too!!
Let's look at the recipe:
Ingredients:
Oats-2 cups
Groundnuts-2 tsp
Cashewnuts-4-5
Badam-4-5
Sugat-6 tsp
Pure ghee-1 tsp
Water- 2 times sprinkle with your hand.
Method:
Roast groundnuts and then remove their skin.
Roast cashewnuts and badam.
Powder all nuts roughly in a mortar pestle into rough powder.
Then roast oats for nearly 5-6 mins stirring continuously to prevent them from burning.
Keep all aside in a plate.
Then in the same pan add pure ghee, sugar and little water and stir continuously till sugar melts. Once it melts, off the gas and put roasted oats and powdered nuts and mix nicely, evenly.
Remove it in plate and cool outside.
Your oats khadya is ready.
You can consume as it is or use it as an stuffing in nevris or can be given to kids to munch coming going. Store it in air tight container. It remains good for 1 week.
