Instant Green peas pulao

Instant Green peas pulao (muttor pulao):


Whenever you are in a hurry and need to prepare a rice recipe quickly for your tiffin box, an instant green peas pulao is an excellent option. This pulao can be easily prepared in cooker to save your time at the morning chores.

I have given you the preparation of pulao for 2 people for lunch box. I have used frozen green peas for my recipe, you can use the fresh peas if available with you.

So let's look at the recipe quickly.

Ingredients and method:

Wash and soak 2 cups of basmati rice in water for 10 minutes.

Keep 1 cup of frozen green peas in water to make them come at room temperature.

In the cooker, add 1 tsp oil , 2 tsp ghee, add 2 cloves, 1 cinnamon, 2 cardamom, 1 bay leaf, 1 javitri. Saute for a while. Then add 4 cashewnuts broken into fine pieces. Saute. Then add 1 medium size onion finely chopped onions, saute for a minute. Then add washed frozen peas and saute for a while. Add 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste and saute well. Add 1-2 tsp of salt as per taste.

Drain rice from water and add in above and saute for a while.

Add hot water. Water should be 3 cups (1.5 cup for 1 cup of rice). Add juice of 1 lemon.

Now close the cooker lid and pressure cook for 2 ( two) whistles. After 10 minutes, open the cooker and keep it slightly open for another 5 mins. Mix slowly and serve hot. You will find your rice very khilakhila means non sticky.


You can now immediately pack the rice in tiffin box. It will remain non sticky till lunch time.
