Paplet (pomphret) fry:



Paplet as called out in Goa for the famous expensive fish pomphret. Its a tasty fish available for the rich crowd. Yes I must say this because a single Paplet is rated for 500 bugs which are unaffordable for a common middle-class pockets.

Though sometimes in a year few small sized paplets are readily available and affordable for a common man at 200 bugs. They are a very healthy fish mostly recommended by doctors too to be the first fish to start with for infants of 6-7 months.

This goan fish recipe is loved by all in the form of curry as well as fries.

For frying, first u need to clean the fish, cut into desired pieces ,  apply salt and keep aside for at least 1hr so that the raw smell of the fish goes and the salt is nicely absorbed by the fish flesh which increases their taste.

Ingredients are few so I have not listed them down.
After 1 hr, just wash the fish and apply haldi powder,red chilli powder and salt. If u need to enhance the taste u can add ginger garlic green chilli paste which will give an awesome taste.keep marinated for 10 mins. Then heat a tawa, put oil all over, dip each fish piece in rawa-rice flour mixture and shallow fry on tawa on both sides till done. Serve with rice and a fish curry.
