Footi kadi

Footi kadi- kokum curry-a goan side-curry:

A goan always wants a side curry like Sol kadi, footi  kadi, dhaya kadi etc after having finished with main meal curry. These curries are held at last with the remaining last part of rice. Our goan meals are incomplete with any one of these side curries. Here I am going to give you the recipe of simplest kokum curry or as called out footi kadi by goans.

Ingredients:
Kokum petals-5-6
Water-1-2 cups
Salt-1 tsp
Sugar-2 tsp
Coriander leaves-1/2 cup
Green chillies-2-3
Hing-2 small pieces
Garlic pods-1(optional)

Method:

In a utensil, add kokum petals and salt and little water and keep for 5 mins. Then add remaining all ingredients and mix well. Mash the hing properly in this water so that it lives its flavour and aroma. Keep this kadi for 10 mins to rest till all flavors get mixed up.

Note that garlic is optional. If u add garlic then skip hing and vice versa.

Serve with rice.
