Chavlyanche tonak ani chapati- goan breakfast:

Chavli are the white kidney beans which look similar to red kidney beans and are loved by all goans for breakfast or lunch.
Chavlis are in fact very tasty food grain and are very healthy as it contains lot of protein content. In Goa we prepare its masala gravy with onion and also without onion. Here I am going to give you the original goan recipe with onion.
Let's look at the recipe!!
Ingredients:
Chavli-1 cup
Potato-1
Onions-2 medium sized
Scraped coconut-1 bowl
Cinnamon-1
Cloves-2-3
Coriander seeds-1 tsp
Peppercorns-1 tsp
Red chillies-2
Haldi-1 tsp
Red chilli powder-2 spoons
Sugar-1 tsp
Salt as per taste
Tamarind paste-1 tsp
Oil-1 tsp
Water as required.
Method:
Soak chavli overnight. Next day cook them in pressure cooker along with 1 chopped onion and chopped potato for 3 whistles.
Roast in oil cinnamon, cloves, coriander seeds, peppercorn, red chillies till nice aroma. Remove. Then roast 1 long slitted onion and scraped coconut till nice aroma. Cool and grind with haldi, red chilli powder and tamarind paste.
Last step is mix mixer ground masala and cooked cooker chavli together and add salt and sugar and give a boil.
Serve with hot chapaties or fulkas for breakfast.
