Harvyamirsanga lonche

Harvyamirsanga lonche ( green chilli pickle/ harimirch ka achhar):

When green chillies come at home in abundance, this is what each housewife thinks to do. Either store it properly in refrigerator since green chillies get spoiled fast or try something new with them. Some people have a very spicy tooth, a pickle of green chillies would make wonders to their taste buds. So keep this in mind I tried my hands on making their pickle. Let's go through the recipe.

Ingredients:
Green chillies-10-15
Mustard oil-1 cup
Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Methi seeds-1/2 tsp
Coriander seeds-1 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Peppercorns-1/2 tsp
Carom seeds-1/2 tsp
Asafoteida-1 piece
Lemon -1
Salt as per taste

Method:
Heat 1 cup mustard oil and keep aside to cool.

Dry roast all ingredients above and cool. Grind to a powder in mixer.

Wash the green chillies, wipe them with dry cloth and cut them into half's.

Mix grinded powder, green chillies, salt nicely.

Squeeze juice of lemon and add in above mixture along with previously heated and cooled mustard oil. Your pickle is ready but not to be eaten now.

Transfer the pickle in a porcelain or glass jar and keep it in sun for at least 2 days. Green chillies will nicely leave its aroma and flavour in the pickle and then it will ready to consume.

Here is the picture of the green chilli pickle after 2 days.

Serve with dal and rice.
