Idli Manchurian
Idli Manchurian (an twisted recipe of Manchurian with left over idlis):
Manchurian is basically a Chinese recipe made using cauliflower, mushrooms, chicken etc. However now a days people have started making Manchurian dishes out of anything. Just take any kind of veggie, deep fry it in a Manchurian batter and finally toss them with required sauces. There you are!! Ready to eat a new Manchurian dish. Cooking is really become so simple and twisting the recipes a fashion trend or an everyday hook nook trial game😊.
Whatever it is readers, today am going to share you my tried and twisted dish- Idli Manchurian. I had prepared idlis for breakfast, however there were lot many left out for the next day. So next day I thought of making a snack out of them. So tried out this tasty, yummy recipe. The way chicken Manchurian tastes soft and spongy, the idlis once fried in manchurian batter also tastes soft and spongy like chicken. You can try out friends, here goes my recipe.
Ingredients:
Left over idlis-10 No's
Onions -2 medium
Ginger 1 inch- chopped
Garlic pods-7-9- chopped
Capsicums-2
Carrots-2
Green chillies-2-3
Sugar-1 tsp
Salt as per taste.
Oil for deep frying
Oil- 2 tsp in final tossing
Coriander leaves-1 bowl
Spring onions- little if available.
Manchurian batter:
Maida-1 bowl
Cornflour-3 tsp
Red food color- a pinch
Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
Salt as per taste
Water to make paste as required
Manchurian sauces:
Red chilli sauce-2 tsp
Green chilli sauce-2 tsp
Soya sauce-2 tsp
Tomato sauce-3-4 tsp
Method:
Cut the idlis into small small pieces.
Prepare Manchurian batter. Dip each idli piece in the batter and deep fry in oil. Fry all idli pieces and keep aside.
Chop onions, capsicums, green chillies into longslits, ginger and garlic into small pieces or mash them, coriander leaves into fine.
Finally heat a big kadai, add oil, chopped onions. Saute well. Add chopped green chillies, capsicums and carrots. Saute and cook slightly.
Add all the Manchurian sauces mentioned above. Toss well.
Add sugar, salt and then batter fried idli pieces. Stir very well. Add coriander leaves and then you are done.
Serve hot as a snack or as a part of your lunch or dinner.
