Khatta meetha egg curry ( sweet and sour egg curry):



Egg is such a delicious food source which gets blended well in any form of curry giving you a awesome food product at end. There are lot of recipes of egg curries which are different in all states prepared in various ways.

Today I shall share with you an delicious egg curry recipe which I tried with my own way with some different combinations of dry masalas, curd and sugar giving you a khatta meetha ( sweet and sour) taste.


Let me quickly give you my recipe.

Ingredients and method:

Boil 4 eggs. Cool and make long slits on 4 sides of the egg. Apply the following paste to the eggs.

1 tsp each of turmeric powder, red chilli powder, jeera powder, coriander powder, tandoori chicken masala, garam masala, curd, ginger garlic paste, salt. Marinate your boiled eggs with this paste and keep aside for 5 mins.

Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan, shallow fry above marinated eggs for 5 mins and keep aside.
Heat 2 tsp oil again in same pan, add 1 medium chopped onion, saute well. Add 2 green chillies finely chopped. Saute. Add 2 tomatoes finely chopped. Saute very well till tomatoes turn mushy. Add 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste. Saute well. Add 1 tsp each of turmeric powder, red chilli powder, jeera powder, coriander powder, garam masala, tandoori chicken masala. Saute all masalas well. Then add half cup of water and cook. Add 2 tsp of curd, 2 tsp sugar and salt as per taste. Add 4-5 karipatta leaves. Mix well. Let the curry boil. Add fried eggs. Let the eggs boil well. Let the gravy thicken.

Off the flame. Sprinkle some coriander leaves. You are done with your delicious khatta meetha egg curry of my own style.


Serve with rotis/paratas/bread or rice.
Try out friends!!

Note: You can replace sugar with jaggery for the sweet taste.
