Instant Sambhar
Instant Sambhar ( a simple and quick recipe to sambhar):
With idlis, wadas, dosas, etc etc , all the South Indian breakfast recipes are must accompanied with chutney and sambhar!! When you plan to prepare one of these, chutney can be quickly prepared, but sambhar is always a time consuming process and you have to see the availability of the specific vegetables to add to sambhar like raddhish, pumpkin, bottleguord, bhendi, carrot, beetroot, drumsticks etc...
Today I shall share with you an instant Sambhar recipe prepared with very few readily available vegetables with me by a simple quick procedure.
Ingredients and recipe:
First soak a cup of tur Dal in water for 20 minutes and then pressure cook it for 5 whistles. Remove, mesh a little and keep aside.
Next chop roughly 2 potatoes, 1 beetroot, 2 carrots, 1 onion,1 tomato and add 1 tsp haldi powder, 2 tsp red chilli powder, 2 red chillies, 2 tsp sambhar masala powder and add required water and pressure cook again for just 1 whistle. Open the cooker once it cools a little bit so that potato gets cooked properly.
Then mix previously cooked and meshed dal and cooked vegetables and add required salt and water, little sugar to balance the taste, again 2 tsp of sambhar powder and boil.
Give a tempering of hing, mustard seeds, karipatta leaves, 2 red chillies in 2 tsp of oil and pour the tempering on your above sambhar.
Yes you are done with your instant sambhar.
Serve with idlis, dosas, wadas, uttapa etc any kind of South Indian breakfast dishes.
